Is there anything more frustrating than having your gaming experience ruined by a pre-roll ad on Twitch? You’re just trying to enjoy your favorite streamer, and then boom – an ad pops up and ruins the flow.

Thankfully, there are a few ways you can stop Twitch ads from ruining your day. In this blog post, we’ll share with you four different methods for blocking ads on Twitch. Whether you use an ad blocker or tweak your settings, you can say goodbye to those pesky ads once and for all!

What are twitch ads and how do they work

Before we get into how to block twitch ads, let’s first take a look at what they are. Twitch ads are commercials that play before or during a stream. They can be in the form of a pre-roll ad (a commercial that plays before the stream starts), or a mid-roll ad (a commercial that interrupts the stream).

These ads are generally between 30 seconds and 2 minutes long, and can be skipped after 5 seconds. However, if you’re trying to watch a stream on mobile, you’re out of luck – there’s no way to skip the ad. Twitch ads are served by an advertising network called AdTech. This network is owned by Amazon, which means that Amazon makes money off of every ad that is played on Twitch.
