Life Surge Events Grow From Startup to Stadium-Filled Movement in 3 Years

Life Surge, a Christian organization focused on integrating business and faith, has experienced extraordinary growth since its 2020 launch, making it America’s fastest-growing Christian business.

Life Surge events routinely attract crowds of more than 100,000 people annually, and more than 80% of these gatherings sell out.

The company’s rapid rise stems from its unique approach to combining Christian principles with practical business strategies. “We’re trying to mobilize the Christian community to really not be afraid of this issue of being a faithful resource creator and multiplier,” said Life Surge founder and CEO Joe Johnson.

Life Surge events teach what Johnson calls the “Four W’s of Kingdom Impact” — worship, wisdom, work, and wealth creation. While the first three components align with traditional Christian teachings, the wealth aspect marks new territory for many religious organizations.

“A testament to our success is our high Net Promoter Score,” Johnson said. “Our customers love us, and this NPS score indicates the positive difference we’re making in people’s lives.”

Life Surge’s live events have earned an NPS of 50, surpassing established brands like American Express Bank and Disney — a notable achievement for a company founded just five years ago.

Stadium-Scale Success

Headquartered in Palmetto, Florida, Life Surge hosts events in cities across the nation. The organization is gearing up to head to Austin, Texas, in December and San Francisco in January.

The company’s growth trajectory created an unexpected challenge: managing overwhelming speaker demand. “Every speaker that we know of wants to speak for Life Surge,” Johnson says. “When we started, we had to beg people. Now we have the opposite problem.”

While many organizations moved entirely online during the pandemic, Life Surge maintained a focus on in-person gatherings. “Most of our industry or our world has gone through shortcuts in focus of technology and information at the expense of community. We have been exactly the opposite,” Johnson informs.

Rob Collins, Life Surge’s chief marketing officer, compared the movement’s scale to historic religious gatherings. “There hasn’t been a movement like this since Promise Keepers,” he adds. “When you’re surrounded with thousands of people and you’re worshiping together and you’re learning together and you’re being challenged together — that’s really powerful.”

The enterprise brings together business minds, entrepreneurs, and worship teams for events featuring speakers like Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, Soul Surfer author and shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton, top motivational talker Nick Vujicic, and musician David Crowder. Recent additions include Frasier star Kelsey Grammer and Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavec. It’s this unique roster of speakers and a Christian faith-based foundation that sets Life Surge in a league of its own.

“From the first second of any Life Surge event to the last second, it’s inspiring,” Vujicic said in a Crossmap YouTube video. “Priscilla Shirer, she’s amazing. Tim Tebow, he’s amazing. Then we also have some other experts who have mentored and trained many other people in teaching people investment tools.”

The organization plans continued expansion of its educational offerings across real estate, market trading, and business development. “Right now, we have so many different products that we’re launching within our Life Surge vertical,” Johnson says. Their focus remains on equipping Christians with practical strategies for resource creation and multiplication while maintaining a focus on community building through live events.

“No matter where you are on your journey, Life Surge has an experience designed to inspire, transform, and equip you to make a kingdom impact,” it states on lifesurge.com.

Johnson reiterates how his push for in-person events continues to fuel Life Surge’s bright future.

“We want to lead a global movement of people surging their lives God’s way by inspiring, transforming, and equipping believers to do all that God has called them to do,” Johnson shared. “Years ago, Billy Graham Jr. said, ‘I believe one of the next great moves of God is going to be through the believers in the workplace.’”

Through Life Surge’s events, those attendees can then take what they learn and apply it to their everyday lives.

“Our mandate is to provide an opportunity for each attendee and believer to experience increase in their personal lives, careers, businesses, wealth, and legacy for the generations to follow,” Johnson revealed.
