According to recent studies, infertility affects every 1 in 6 people around the world. This is a prevalent issue that has left couples desperately searching for solutions. If you’re in the same boat, don’t panic because there is hope.

Luckily, there are a lot of great fertility supplements that contain essential nutrients for reproductive health. Eating them in the right amounts has proven to increase the chances of a successful pregnancy. Plus, they are available for both men and women.

However, not every fertility supplement is the right choice. With so many options in the market, you should select a supplement using the following tips:

1. Check The Quantity of Each Nutrient

Most supplements don’t mention the exact amount of each nutrient in the product. They will either just write the nutrients or state that the supplement is a proprietary blend. You might also find big claims on the packaging of these supplements.

This is a marketing tactic to increase sales. Don’t fall for the trap!

Whenever selecting a fertility supplement, always go through the composition in detail. It’s because consuming a specific nutrient in high quantities can be harmful to your reproductive health, too.

For example, research suggests that women should consume 400mcg of folic acid daily. But if your folic acid intake increases by 1000mcg per day, it can actually make pregnancy risky. There are higher chances of impaired fetal growth and miscarriages.

So, first, research what nutrients you should consume and in what quantities. Then, select a fertility supplement that meets those requirements.

2. Verify The Authenticity

In today’s digital world, it is quite easy to purchase fake customer feedback. Companies can hire people to write product feedback that seems genuine and authentic. They can even pay other people to change their negative comments into positive ones.

It’s why you should never rely on the so-called testimonials on the company website and social media pages. Instead, jump onto reputable websites and forums to learn genuine experiences of the product.

3. Look For Third-Party Testing

The US Food and Drug Department tests every edible item except for supplements. This means you can never be sure whether the product is suitable for use or not.

For this, we recommend looking for third-party testing. Most private organizations run their independent tests on the product and verify them for purity. All items approved by them will carry a seal.

Some trustable seals include NSF, USP, and GMP.

4. Prioritize Quality Over Price

You must have heard the popular opinion — higher prices do not mean better quality.

In the case of fertility supplements, we suggest you not fall for this statement. It’s true that companies don’t base the price on quality only. They charge for their brand name, packaging, and other factors.

However, quality is one of these factors too. If this doesn’t sound convincing, think about the situation yourself. How can a good fertility supplement cost $ when the high-quality versions of ingredients cost $$$? Surely, no business would sell products at a loss, right?

So, please never compromise on quality products. Fertility is a serious matter, and if you can’t afford the products, then maybe you should seek budget-friendly solutions (improving diet and lifestyle conditions).

5. Don’t Purchase Many Supplements at Once

Lastly, know that more supplements aren’t the solution to increased fertility. These are just additional nutrients that your body will utilize to improve the reproductive system. It’s in no way “the cure” to the problem.

In fact, eating too many supplements can have an adverse impact on both men and women. So, never select too many supplements at once or purchase suspiciously affordable fertility products. Instead, research to decide which one is the champion choice, or just consult a professional. Good luck!
